with a broader lower bulb supporting a smaller bulb, each decorated on a white ground with wide continuous bands of scrolling lotus borne on a foliate stem, divided by a chrysanthemum scroll around the waist, all between narrow white borders separating the different registers and repeated at the foot and rim, the flower heads painted in iron-red, aubergine, tuquoise and yellow, the trefoil leaves enamelled in green and picked out with iron-red tips, the base left white and inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character reign mark within double circles

The rim is restored with an associated hairline crack of approx. 7 cm. extending from the rim splitting in two horizontal prongs of approx 5 and 3 cm. respectively. There are a few losses to the enamels, including flakes to the turquoise on one lotus, but otherwise the decoration is well preserved. There are a few minor imperfections in the glaze, including a small shrinkage of glaze on one side of the upper bulb.
