well potted of ovoid form with rounded swelling sides rising at an angle from a low recessed foot to broad shoulders and a short tapered neck, finely decorated around the exterior in shades of cobalt with a continuous scroll of lotus borne on a meandering foliate stem, between a row of overlapping petals encircling the base and a band of pendent ruyi collaring the neck, the rim and foot picked out with a 'classic' scroll within double-line borders, the recessed base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character reign mark within double circles

The jar is overall in very good condition.
