well potted with deep rounded sides supported on a splayed hollow stem with a raised ring, brightly decorated in the Ming style around the exterior with a continuous meandering lotus scroll issuing eight large blossoms among dense foliage, each supporting one of the bajixiang, below a border of lingzhi at the rim and strapworks forming ruyi-heads around the base, the stem picked out with flower sprigs on the raised rib, between a 'classic' scroll above and petal panels below, the cobalt deliberately 'heaped and piled', the interior left white, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character seal mark within the interior of the stem

There are a few small chips on the rim that have been restored and surface scratches to the glaze on the interior. The old restoration included a light grounding of the rim (aprox 1 to 2 mm.) to conceal the fritting and chips.
