The vase is in overall very good condition. The colour of the glaze is consistent with the catalogue illustration.

此瓶形制優雅，釉面勻亮，靈感源於宋代龍泉青瓷，充分彰顯雍正皇帝對於名窰佳器之推崇，以及對擬古出新之渴求。卜士禮（Stephen W. Bushell）於《Oriental Ceramic Art》（倫敦，1981年，頁195-205）中，記載當時各類創新釉種，並詳譯雍正時期御廠所產樣式、釉色之官方細目，其中涵括諸多仿宋傑作，皆屬仿摹清宮所供先朝珍品釉色而成。

本器形制或源自漢代銅壺，其形宋代有仿製，並見瓷器例，明代仍續沿用。比較一宋代銅壺例，載於《宋元の美―伝来の漆器を中心に》，根津美術館，東京，2004年，頁184，圖48j。另比較一龍泉青瓷例，錄於《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集．兩宋瓷器（下）》，香港，1996年，圖版103。前述銅、瓷兩器，瓶身及頸部皆見弦紋，惟後者作盤口。明代同類龍泉青瓷瓶，長頸盤口，可參考兩例，見《中国陶磁：出光美術館蔵品図錄》，東京，1987年，圖版769和770。本瓶頸掛弦紋，而上止於蒜頭形口，實乃循古立新之佳作。
