康海濤出生於一九七六年，二千年畢業自四川美術學院，並一直留在綿陽教學。康海濤以細緻而印象化的筆觸，描繪生活周遭的風景，其中以描繪夜色的作品最為令人屏然心動。細緻的光暗掌握令人身處其中，傳遞一種特別安靜和寧靜的感覺。《老廠房》是藝術家二〇〇八年的創作，黑色屋簷的廠房的深處透著光芒，從畫面後方向漫延開來。藝術家對黑夜敏銳的捕捉最為人稱道，光線在畫面中，尤如黑夜中的靈氣。「我覺得畫裡有光線的話，可能畫面上就會有呼吸感，畫面裡好像有生命的東西在裡面。」靈氣讓康海濤的作品流露著一種詩意，氣質上接近東方美學中的意境，卻同時神秘而深邃。在此，藝術家成功以西方藝術媒介，找到與中國傳統水墨藝術家對意境追求的契合之處。
