There is a chip of 0.4 cm to the hand of the fisherman, but otherwise the overall condition is very good. The actual tone of the blue is slightly deeper compared to the catalogue illustration.

Compare the present bottle to lot 232, a carved white glass bottle, in this auction. Both bottles are carved with similar subject matter, featuring plantains, country residences, rocky outcrops, and distinctive pine trees. This is a rare example in a lavender-blue colour seldom used and, when it was, usually paler, as in the cases of two other examples from the Bloch collection, sold at Bonhams Hong Kong, 28th May 2010, lot 36 and 28th November 2011, lot 47.
