Condition
This work is in very good condition. There is evidence of hairline craquelure across the surface of the painting, only visible under close examination. There are two spots of slight dirt in between the girls knees and at the left index finger. There is no evidence of restoration under UV.

「陳逸鳴藝術歷程的最大特點，是長期在不同的文化背景下穿梭探索。中國的改革開放為一代藝術家放開視域、與國際交流提供了新的契機，陳逸鳴屬於國門打開之後，最早走向世界的中國畫家之一。在這個旅程中，他一方面懷著瞭解西方藝術文化的願望，前往西方藝術的中心紐約訪學求藝，補充新知；另一方面也帶去自己初露風格的作品，開展交流，形成對話。這樣的歷程對於他來說是幸運的，因為他有機會直接獲得廣泛的借鑒與交流，但也是富有挑戰性的，因為走向海外就意味著在中外文化的碰撞中生存與探索，這不是一般意義上的碰撞，而是思想觀念、文化價值取向到形式語言表達全方位的碰撞。他在文化對接和藝術語境的轉換中獲得豐富的營養，既有困惑，又有興奮和刺激，更有不斷清醒和明確的文化意識與自我意識。在此過程中，他反省和思考了西方文化與本土的關聯，在文化情感的歸屬上，他緊緊依靠母體文化的支援，用自己的作品贏得了西方畫壇的關注，並且最終回到本土進行創作。因此，瞭解他的經歷之後，我們看他的畫就不僅只觀其風格，而是能夠體察到這一代藝術家的精神境遇和情感的旅程。」
