This work is in very good condition. There are scattered light traces of varnishing across the surface of the painting, predominantly in the red central area, inherent to the artist's working method. There is evidence of scattered minor accretions across the surface. There is no evidence of restoration under UV.

「《朝夕》作於2007年。這幅作品的創作靈感來自於當年因為經常到英國畫肖像，在博物館、藏家家中都可以接觸到十九世紀中期的拉菲爾前派作品，它們不僅是當時新新人類的最愛，亦是我為之傾倒的畫派。於是我開始創作唯美主義的作品，特別是表現中國晚清時代的女性，如英國維多利亞王朝末期那樣，她們也是處於社會道德和個人情感㚒縫中求存，從這個角度出發，為古典唯美的民族色彩帶來無限的創作空間。這畫中畫的是黙想中的少女，與寵物朝夕相對，背景中的飛天是一種浪漫的夢幻，一動一靜突顯少女宿命中的孤寂。」
