This work is in excellent condition. There is evidence of light wear along the four edges of the work, only visible under close examination. Right Panel: there is one paint loss 1 cm in length along the right edge, 57 cm from the top edge of the work. There is no evidence of restoration under UV.

劉玖通—烘雲托月
劉玖通的抽象繪畫，展現濃厚的中華文化氣息。藝術家畢業於西安美術學院，先後在北京、上海、台北定居，在不懈創作中形成自己的獨有語言，其作品與古典詩文淵源深厚，具有「詩中有畫，畫中有詩」的中國藝術特徵。「烘雲托月」一詞，最早見於金聖嘆批元代王實甫《西廂記》：「而先寫張生者，所謂畫家烘雲托月之秘法。」可知此一文學手法，實源自國畫景物烘托之布局技巧。本作採用雙連屏的形式呈現，無論左右抑或上下，都顯出倒影般的對稱效果，在一片飄渺空濛之間，廣袤的風景似實而虛、似真而幻，有如湖水倒映山徑叢林，亦如旭日金暉灑向大地，使人再三尋味，感興油然而生。
