The painting is in good condition. It is not clear whether the stable, flat support is made up of a single panel or a series of horizontal panels joined to the reverse because thorough inspection of the reverse is impeded by cradling. There are a series of unobtrusive horizontal lines in the paint surface that could be panel joins or old hairline splits. The most notable of these run in horizontally from the left and right hand margin and are approx. 10 cm. each in length. The paint surface is secure, in good condition and with the details nicely preserved under an even varnish. Inspection under UV light reveals some retouching work along the aforementioned horizontal splits/joins and in the sky. Offered in stained wooden frame with a velvet inset in good condition.
