Condition

STRUCTURE The canvas appears to be taut but unlined. PAINT SURFACE The painting appears to be in good condition with no apparent damage or loss of paint. There is a thick discoloured varnish overall. ULTRAVIOLET Examination under ultraviolet light reveals no apparent evidence of retouching however it does confirm the presence of the old milky varnish which impedes further inspection. FRAME Held in an ornate gilt wood frame.
