Condition

This work is in good condition overall and the canvas is clear and taut. Upon close observation, there are scattered faint craquelures on the impasto areas throughout, but the paint is in stable condition. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals no evidence of restoration. Framed.

阿凡迪

阿凡迪充滿戲劇性全景油畫《銀座》在漆黑的背景中綻放光芒,通過豐富的顏料編織出壯觀的動態交響樂。既豐富又隨意不羈的厚塗顏料巧妙地表達了動感,又增添了幾分抽象感,而格子狀的幾何結構牽制了晃動的色調,替構圖增加秩序。銀座在日本東京是個極具代表性的地區,畫中閃爍的霓虹燈代表了人口稠密,人山人海的動態。天鵝絨般的夜空襯托著明亮的燈光,璀璨的霓虹燈就如紅寶石和祖母綠一樣閃閃生輝。日建設計株式会社所設計的三菱夢想中心(又名San’ai 大廈)十分有名。大廈在1962年建成,位於銀座最為人知的十字路口中。有趣的是儘管這座大廈是東京市民日常的一部分,大廈塔上的品牌廣告卻不停轉換。

阿凡迪的遊歷油畫系列是他眾多作品當中最為重要的。除了他的前輩Raden Saleh,阿凡迪是唯一一個二十世紀中期周遊列國的印尼藝術家,並在旅程途中不斷以畫作記錄他的所見所聞和異國體驗。當阿凡迪抵達日本的時候,他已有在巴西聖保羅雙年展和威尼斯雙年展中展出的經驗並在後者贏得獎項(1964年)。除此之外他亦曾到過印度、巴西、美國、英國、比利時、法國、意大利和瑞典等地。

《銀座》裡的街頭蜂擁著成群結隊的車和人,灼亮的霓虹燈和廣告牌幾乎掩蓋了漆黑的夜空,表現出阿凡迪對現代性國際都市燈火鼎盛的摩天大廈的著迷。乍看之下,此景象跟畫家筆下的印尼日常生活,譬如鬥雞,農村似乎沒有多大差別。然而阿凡迪的作畫手法貫徹始終,充滿張力和靈魂精髓,對人類生活狀況和觀察報以同樣的敏感度。阿凡迪在畫中表達了人類對現代社會那日復一日的千變萬化不知如何自處的矛盾。應該隨波續流地迎合,還是在沒有坐標的世界裡嘗試抓緊零碎的浮木?儘管畫面充斥著如此深奧的問題,阿凡迪對人類成就的敬畏,並對光明的未來抱有強烈而堅定的真誠期待。
