在克裡絲汀(Ay Tjoe Christine)的作品中,結構總擔當重要角色,一方面她著迷於結構,但與此同時,她排斥其拘泥形式。克裡絲汀視作畫為一種釋放,在畫的領域裡,她是造物者,也是建築師。這獨立自主、不盲從的精神使她的思想不受框架局限,為了克服紙張單薄的限制,她把水墨及紙上石墨作品複製於畫板之上,以彰顯其強烈的效果。

《一日大樓2》(Bangunan Sehari II)是克裡絲汀早期作品中最為有力、傑出的例子之一。它打破素描、蝕刻與繪畫的界限,遊走於寫實與抽象之間。在圖像處理中常見的對立元素於克裡絲汀而言已是駕輕就熟,黑與明、空間與建設,在這幅畫中傳達著重心與失重、無常與永恆、見與不見。此畫的視覺概念如綹綹蔓絲,連接著一幅又一幅的作品,好像從她最知名的作品集《層次系列》(Layer series)中,便可看出畫家這十多年來不斷追求、發展並演繹的主題方向。《一日大樓2》不僅是克裡絲汀早年之代表作品,更是瞭解她藝術生涯關鍵一環。
