註:本幅見山懸孤塔,綠柳陣列,分割畫面為上下兩部份。如此
構圖可溯源自畫家一九五八年作品〈春酣〉,佈局相類,但隱去近
景陂地,將綠柳與孤塔距離拉近,柳叢幾覆蓋全畫面積三分之
二。六四年筆下的〈新春〉擴濶了空間,令視野及天地更形寬廣,
惟筆墨、設色沿襲前者,仍是一片清新自然。
若再探究構圖衍化演變之淵源,孤塔遠山的原型可見諸一九六○
年作品〈夕陽山外山〉,而柳樹佈岸則取法於一九五八年的〈小蓬
船〉,惟兩者組合自然,無生硬拼湊之弊。惜畫家在兩年後難逃政
治風暴帶來的厄運,如此構圖未能再生變化現於筆下。
又同年十二月中旬〈潘天壽國畫展〉在香港舉行,規模盛大,甚受
歡迎。展出多為近作,包括是年之作。本幅寫於三月中旬至四月
中旬期間,香港展覽目錄上,編號86,畫題「新春」,惜未記創作
年份,兩者是否同一,待考。
