註：一九四三年初秋，關山月放棄了在重慶的國立藝專教授的聘
請，與趙望雲等結伴出塞探勝。他在敦煌臨寫研究壁畫藝術，而
沿河西走廊途中亦作寫生，創作了一批有關西北之行的作品，並
在陪都舉行展覽。
本幅題曰「憶寫塞上印象」，即指此事。畫中所寫荒山牧民策騎
踏雪，若與其一九四三年筆下的〈祁連牧居〉相參照，祗是季節有
異，惟畫境皆接近，可知出於祁連紀遊同一脈胳。
