  • Painted copper
raised on a splayed foot, with deep rounded sides and surmounted by a domed cover finely painted at the centre with a large stylised bloom framed by eight radiating lotus flowers, each borne on feathery leaves and enclosed by ruyi-head motifs, with further lotus sprays intertwined with wanzi symbols above a ruyi-head border at the rim, the box similarly painted, all in vibrant famille rose enamels against a turquoise ground, the interiors enamelled turquoise with the base in white

Condition

There are several areas of restoration of varying length to the side of the cover just above the rim. There are some cracks and a small area of related repair to one side of the interior of the cover.There are five star cracks to the exterior base and one to the side above the rim. There are also a number of burst bubbles to the enamel to the interior.
