the gnarled leafy branch bearing three large fruits, a fourth smaller stemming amidst large leaves on the reverse, the amber of a warm attractive brownish-red tone

There are a couple of natural veins and some minor related losses to the bottom of one fruit, but otherwise, the overall condition is very good.

Finely fashioned in the form of three lychee fruits, the present amber carving is full of auspicious symbolism. The word lychee in Chinese is lizhi which is homophonous with the word 'to establish a son' which represents the wish to have descendants who continue the family line.
