岳敏君的《當代兵馬俑》混合了歷史及自我形像。作品的形像乃取自中國秦始皇陵墓中的兵馬俑。這個由八千名陶俑士兵組成的軍隊，被用作陪葬之用，它們各具特色及造型，栩栩如生。岳敏君的《當代兵馬俑》，雖然帶著中國古典藝術之美學，但它們與秦始皇的軍隊不同之處，它們彼此有著幾乎一致的面部表情及造型，而誇張的四肢及頭部表現了作品現代的風格。這件作品透露著專注的力量，體現了中國在廿一世紀面對的許多衝突及個人形像的崛起。
