南宋十三世紀 朱漆蓮花式盤

the delicately-lobed and rounded sides rising from a recessed base to a barbed rim divided into eight bracket foliations, the interior with radiating ribs extending from a slight recess of conforming shape in the centre, applied overall with a rich crimson-red lacquer, except for the base and the broad footring lacquered in black

There is an old minute chip to one of the tips (located at 1 o'clock). The dish is otherwise in overall quite good condition, with some relacquering to the base and light surface crackling in areas revealing a darker lacquer layer underneath.

素面無紋的宋代漆器，乃漆作中最雅緻精美之例。此蓮花式盤，朱漆沉穩厚實，器形簡約卻優雅，自然悅目，且輕盈若羽，實乃藝高漆匠之佳作，體現宋代文人雅練之品味。

英國 Sedgwick 舊藏有一件十分相似之朱漆八瓣蓮式盤，1968年10月15日由倫敦蘇富比售出，編號56。可相比較還有一件六瓣盤，稍小，盤背施黑漆，錄於李汝寬，《東方漆器藝術》，東京，1972年，頁118，圖版52，作者並指，盤底二字銘文，乃隱世勤學靜修之高士的別稱。另一件褐黑漆八瓣盤，甚為珍罕，出自知名日本家族收藏，其雅蓄成於二次大戰前，見於香港蘇富比2010年10月8日，編號2638。一件朱漆七瓣盤（或為托盤），出自 Dubosc 收藏，曾展於倫敦古董商 Eskenazi 特展《Chinese Lacquer from the Jean-Pierre Dubosc Collection and Others》，倫敦，1992年，編號8。

其他作不同花形之宋代素紋漆盤，可見於《宋元の美‧漆器を中心に》，根津美術館，東京，2004年，編號17-20。八瓣漆盤持續盛行於元代，多雕花鳥紋飾。此類作例，可見一件雕漆孔雀牡丹圖盤，略大，曾展於《故宮漆器特展》，國立故宮博物院，台北，1981年，編號5。
