robustly potted, of compressed globular form, the rounded sides elegantly rising from a small bulge above the straight foot to high rounded shoulders and a lipped rim, covered overall with an even 'clair-de-lune' glaze finely suffused with bubbles, the base inscribed with a six-character seal mark in underglaze blue, set on a carved wood stand reticulated on top with a large foliate lotus

Condition
The basin is in very good condition. The actual colour is quite close to the catalogue illustration.

暫得樓藏有一例，器形與此相似，青釉色澤略淡，現存上海博物館，錄於《暫得樓清代官窰單色釉瓷器》，香港，2005年，編號14，頁62，書中周麗麗指此類器皿多作魚缸之用。北京故宮博物院另藏一例，著錄於《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集‧顏色釉》，香港，1999年，編號206，頁228。另有一例，外壁施深藍釉，署雍正六字篆書款，售於香港蘇富比2006年3月30，編號318，也可與本品作對比。
