根據楊伯達之研究（《清代廣東貢品》，香港，1987年，頁52），如此香托器沿之鎏金厚實，乃畫北京琺瑯器之特點。楊氏形容畫廣東琺瑯器之鎏金，較薄且色淺，略帶黃褐色調，光澤度亦不同。

一件雍正年款北京畫北京琺瑯香托，與本品幾近一樣，帶鏤空銅蓋，現藏英國巴斯東亞藝術館，曾展於《Inaugural Exhibition: Chinese Metalwares and Decorative Arts》，巴斯，1993年，編號310，並錄於 Hugh Moss，《By Imperial Command》，香港，1976年，圖版17。此類香托器形，可能源自康熙年款畫琺瑯花式盤，後者同飾黃地纏枝蓮紋，作例可見於台北國立故宮博物院，詳見《明清琺瑯器展覽圖錄》，台北，1999年，圖版93；另一例出自清宮舊藏，現存北京故宮，刊錄於《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集‧金屬胎琺瑯器》，香港，2002年，圖版182。
