The canvas is not lined. A close inspection reveals a few very minor lines of stable shrinkage to the right-hand building and just above the left-hand building. Examination under UV light reveals two very small spots of retouching to the dark brown pigment of the wall, a small spot of retouching to the roof of the left building and another in the upper left corner, presumably to cover old frame abrasion. There is also a small area of fluorescence to the right of the figure in the lower left corner. Apart from a tiny hole to the left of the lower edge, this work is in very good condition.
