《自貢系列：鹽鹵工人與遮羞布之一》攝於1938年4月，記錄了自貢市「車鹽鹵」工人的工作情況。工人們每天腳踏水車，每一秒都賣足氣力，十分辛苦勞累，即便在隆冬之下也會汗流浹背。為節省衣褲洗刷之勞，工人們在勞作時一定會一絲不掛，因為出汗太多常常汗水迷眼，所以他們會預備一塊擦汗用的布放在手邊。除了擦汗以外，一旦有外人到來，還可以臨時遮擋下半身，充作遮襠布之用。作品如實地將當地的生活型態紀錄了下來，別具歷史意義。
