Condition
This work is overall in excellent condition. There are slight craquelures across the surface, notably at the top middle area and on the left of the girl's head. There are very slight wears along the borders. There are minor accretions across the surface.
There is no evidence of restoration under UV light.

徐海鷗祖藉江蘇吳江，畢業於南京藝術學院美術系，現任蘇州大學藝術學院副教授。徐氏生長於風光明媚的江南，一直致力於水鄉題材的創作，其作品《昨夜秋風》曾為美國新英格蘭當代藝術中心(New England Center for Contemporary Art) 收藏。《聽春》中的景觀彷彿西湖十景裡的「斷橋殘雪」，在一片迷濛的晨光裡，小女孩在萬籟無聲中仰望天際，似正聽盼著某種未知的到來。藝術家巧妙利用一遠一近的兩道橋，將畫面的左右兩邊分割，造成極遠與極近兩景，但彼此又不失協調，青灰色的主調，使春意隱而不現，而人物的單薄衣衫，卻暗示冬季已過，如此一來，作品主題也就呼之欲出。
