Condition
This work is overall in excellent condition. There is a brownish circular mark at 175 cm right to the left border. The unpainted areas near the top middle shall belong to the original creation.
There is no evidence of restoration under UV light.

《得江山助》是劉玖通氣魄雄渾的巨幅創作。作品名稱典出〈新唐書〉：「張說為文思屬精壯，長於碑志，世所不逮，人謂得江山助也。」意言好的藝術作品不能脫離現實。此作構圖似宋明山水手卷，唯胸襟氣魄尤有勝之。宋明諸家崇尚空靈，山水淡泊，寧靜致遠，劉玖通自幼學習西畫，受抽象主義藝術影響甚深，不論抒情抽象、抑或抽象表現主義，俱強調情感之坦率，又其人正當盛年，是故雄心壯志，更加躍然紙上。
宋人曾經比較柳永與蘇軾的詞文，謂「柳郎中詞，只好十七八女孩兒執紅牙拍板，唱『楊柳岸曉風殘月』；(蘇)學士詞，須關西大漢持鐵板，唱『大江東去』。」劉玖通的生長之地，正為自古出好漢良將的關西秦域，其血脈深處，自有一股豪邁奔放之氣，遇上煙水迷離的江南風景，為兩類極端地域文化相互碰撞。《得江山助》在如此積澱下誕生，有如宋詞兼得宛約豪放之美，其以排筆橫向塗抹使空間往左右兩邊伸延，色彩雖呈強烈對比，但又有柔和的過度；景中細節，則憑藉上下躍動的細幼線條達成，與主旋律構成逆動，若以卵石擊水，而波瀾起之，作品生氣亦由此而來。藝術家透過巧妙的駕馭成就此一動人心魄的作品。
