The painting is in good condition, as is the canvas, which is clear and taut. Minor indications of wear and handling around the edges, corners and margins are evident but are unobtrusive. The paint layers are well-preserved and are in stable condition. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals no indication of retouching. Colour of the catalogue illustration background is more off white than bleach white. Unframed, on stretcher.

拍品資料及來源

"The aspect of craftsmanship... is obvious in Samsul's working process. The end result that we can see in the artwork reveals that he is indeed a craftsman who works with specific knowledge in the form of the specialized skill of sewing... The process in which he works shows the relation between the work of the hands and that of the mind, in the form of the problem finding and problem solving stages. Samsul's working process can thus affirm Richard Sennet's ideas that advocate the new understanding of 'craftmanship'. Samsul is also a thinking maker."
