each of flat-backed ovoid form supported on a short splayed foot, rising to a waisted neck, flanked by a pair of stylised dragon handles, all below a flaring mouth, the body densely decorated in 'line' painted stylised foliate scrolls and a single blooming peony, all between pendant ruyi-heads and petal panels, the neck painted with a band of upright plantain leaves, the mouth similarly adorned with a band of ruyi-heads
Condition
There are two groups of suspension holes (three holes in the middle, and two holes to the foot) on the back of each vase. There is a 3 mm glaze gap to the side of one vase, possibly being a burst air bubble. Each vase has a few short firing cracks on the underside, with the longest one measuring only about 5 mm (inside one hole). Apart from some tiny kiln grits and burst air bubbles, the overall condition of the pair is very good.
