the ovoid body supported on a slightly flared base, rising to a sloped shoulder below a slender waisted neck and an everted mouth, densely incised on the exterior with floral blooms including aster and lotus borne on undulating leafy stems, all between pendant ruyi heads circling the mouth and upright petal lappets above the base, the exterior covered with a lustrous glaze of a pale celadon tone, pooling to a deeper shade in the recesses, the interior and base reserved in white, the underside inscribed in iron-red with a four-character hall mark reading Shende Tang zhi ('Made for the Hall of Prudent Virtue')

Condition

In addition to some minor glaze pull and occasional stained burst air bubbles, the mouthrim has a 0.3 cm glaze flake and a 0.3 cm shallow chip, both have been polished down. The surface has further pinprick burst air bubbles and the glaze is suffused with dirty pin holes. The actual colour is slightly paler than the actual colour.
