An elegant haven for appreciation

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth has been situated since 2002 in the city’s Cultural District, directly opposite the Kimbell Art Museum. Dedicated to international art from the 1940s to the present, the museum’s collection represents artists including Clyfford Still, Philip Guston, Agnes Martin, Gerhard Richter, Martin Puryear, Vija Celmins, Jenny Holzer, Anselm Kiefer, and Mark Bradford, along with acclaimed local artists such as Vernon Fisher and Linda Blackburn. The concrete, glass and steel building designed by the Pritzker Prize winning architect Tadao Ando, consists of five long, flat-roofed pavilions that appear to float above a vast reflecting pond. Monumental outdoor sculptures by the likes of Richard Serra and KAWS are set within 11 acres of landscaped grounds.
