Turner's ‘Lulworth Cove’: A Masterpiece Reemerges After 96 Years

London | 3 July 2024

P resented in partnership with United Kingdom Sotheby's International Realty, Joseph Mallord William Turner’s exquisite Lulworth Cove, which dates to circa 1811-2, has not been seen in public since it was acquired by Sir John Reid at Christie’s, London in 1928. A stunning feature in Sotheby’s London’s Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries, its reemergence now has caused considerable excitement, all the more so because of its superb state of preservation.

Join us as British Watercolours & Drawings specialist, Mark Griffith-Jones, provides his expert voice on this magnificent coastal landscape and its rich history.

The Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries auction will take place live on 3 July 2024 at Sotheby’s London.
