For the first time since its inception, the iconic annual Treasures sale, which has been exclusively held in London until now, is expanding with a Parisian chapter. This unique event brings together exceptionally rare lots from some of Europe’s most illustrious royal and aristocratic families, celebrating the grandeur of 17th- and 18th-century decorative arts.
In this video, Sotheby’s Decorative Art specialists showcase extraordinary French Art pieces that highlight the artistic exchanges and influences across Europe during this period. Featured lots include a Louis XIV Gilt-Bronze Cabinet (circa 1660-1680), a stunning fusion of intricate filigree and thread marquetry, as well as a set of four Louis XV light wall appliques (circa 1750-1755), which epitomize the elegance of the Rococo style.
This exceptional sale will take place in London on 4 December and in Paris on 11 December, 2024.
