The world’s oldest charity auction: 164th Hospices de Beaune Wine Auction

BEAUNE | 17 NOVEMBER 2024

Sotheby’s is delighted to present the 164th Hospices de Beaune Wine Auction, to be held at the Halles de Beaune on 17 November 2024. Taking place, as is tradition, on the third Sunday of November, this is the world’s oldest charity auction and most renowned wine auction.

In keeping with its founding values, all proceeds from the annual Hospices de Beaune auction continue to go to support the cost of medical care and upkeep of the organisation’s hospitals. In addition, the proceeds for one particular barrel, the Pièce de Charité, also called Pièce des Présidents, are donated by the Hospices de Beaune to charities every year.

2024, a historic vintage

For the first time in the history of the Hospices de Beaune, the 2024 vintage will embody the successful conversion of its 60-hectare vineyard to organic farming.

With 51 cuvées offered this year, the scope of wines for sale truly suits all tastes and budgets.
