The hypnotic appeal of ancient Zen teabowls

Hong Kong | 9 October

Tenmoku (tianmu) bowls have been used in Japan since medieval times for zen meditation in temples and aristocratic homes. The abstract aesthetic appeal of these teabowls, reminiscent of spacescapes, and the depth of their ultra black glazes rendered them perfect for ritual tea drinking. We are proud to present this season the most beautiful line up of heirloom Tenmoku bowls ever to come to market, all passed down from prestigious aristocratic families and temples in Japan.
