Stella Tennant on Her Natural Affinity With Modern British Art

LONDON | 19 - 20 NOVEMBER

Famed supermodel Stella Tennant explains how Modern British landscape paintings inspire her designs for clothing brand Holland & Holland. From the deep greens and russet reds that evoke the wind-swept, rain-soaked land, to an interest in texture, pattern and the physical quality of materials, Stella and co-creative director Isabella Cawdor share an aesthetic with a number of 20th century British artists. To celebrate this natural affinity, Sotheby’s and Holland & Holland will launch a collaborative exhibition, showcasing pioneering artworks by the likes of Peter Lanyon, Ben Nicholson, Ivon Hitchens, John Piper, Patrick Heron and Barbara Hepworth. The works will then be offered in our upcoming sales Modern & Post-War British Art (19 – 20 November | London). Click here to watch more Sotheby’s videos.
