The eminent sculptors Claude and François-Xavier Lalanne created a prolific body of work, mingling poetry, dreams and humour. Both sculptors' fascinating work has always been exhibited jointly, and both often took the approach of giving their sculptures a function. The poetry of their work plays on words, shapes and materials. On November 3, the sale of works from the personal collection of Dorothée Lalanne will feature iconic works never-before-seen on the market. Highlights will be François-Xavier’s Requin and his Bureau Taureau or Claude’s poetic S’asseoir en forêt bench and Williamsburg series.
