An Intimate Look at One of the Most Celebrated Venetian Palazzos: The Collection of the Count and Countess Giovanni Volpi di Misurata | First Look

The fascinating interiors of Palazzo Volpi will be unveiled to the public for the first time at Sotheby’s Paris in February 2024, displaying the Collection of the Count and Countess Giovanni Volpi di Misurata.

The Renaissance Venetian palazzo located in San Marco, overlooking the left bank of the Grand Canal, has belonged to the Volpi family since 1917, when Giuseppe Volpi, founder of the renowned Mostra Film Festival, became its owner.

This collection presents fascinating objects that have adorned these magical and iconic interiors over the last 100 years and are now coming to the market for the very first time. Amongst others, an outstanding suite of mother-of-pearl inlaid lacquered furniture, important Roman consoles and ballroom banquettes, spectacular Venetian mirrors and chandeliers, and a wonderful group of pieces supplied by Maison Jansen under the direction of Stéphane Boudin.
