Anna Hu and the Music of Jewelry

Hong Kong | 07 October

Anna Hu was on the path to becoming a concert cellist when a shoulder injury at age 20 forced her to chart a new life course. At the behest of her father, Hu took up Jewelry design and quickly established herself as one of the preeminent designers in New York – but music never left her life. Now, she uses her distinctive musical experience and refined skill to design for actresses and celebrities, including Madonna, Gwyneth Paltrow, Natalie Portman and others. In this episode of A Life Less Ordinary, join the esteemed designer as she shares the musically-inspired vision that defined her four unique creations for Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite Auction. Discover an exciting mix of rare pieces, from an impressive 100.02 carat yellow diamond necklace in the form of a Chinese pipa to a pair of conch pearl, sapphire and diamond earrings inspired by piano keys. (7 October | Hong Kong). Filmed on location at 53 West 53, Above MoMA.
