Sotheby’s London is delighted to present British prints from the collection of Leslie and Johanna Garfield. Together, the visionary American collectors and philanthropists championed British art in the United States, promoting the work of the Grosvenor School in particular through generous museum loans and bequests. Open for bidding from 30 May–7 June, A Celebration of British Printmaking features highlights from the Garfield’s storied collection. From striking linoleum cuts by pioneering modernists such as Claude Flight and Sybil Andrews to celebrated works by contemporary printmakers including David Hockney and Grayson Perry, the range of works on offer illuminate a graphic timeline of life and progress in Post-War Britain.
