Europe’s most prestigious art fair is preparing for its third fall New York edition, which returns to the Park Avenue Armory’s historic Wade Thompson Drill Hall from 27–31 October. Around 90 exhibitors specialising in fine and decorative arts and jewellery from antiquity through the early 20th century will bring some of history’s most exquisite art and objects, all rigorously vetted for quality and authenticity by a committee of experts – a process that sets TEFAF apart from other popular fairs. New this year, Egyptian art specialists Gallery Cybele brings a stunning light blue Ibex Head Finial, and Benjamin Proust Fine Art, also showing for the first time, presents a touching bust of a boy from circa 1480.
