The Contemporary Art Evening Auction on 14 November will begin with 11 lots from the Collection of David Teiger, including fresh works by Peter Doig, Mark Grotjahn and Takashi Murakami. The evening will then continue with 54 lots by the biggest names of Contemporary Art including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jasper Johns, David Hockney, Georgia O’Keeffe and many more. Works will be on view in New York beginning 2 November through the sale.

  • Gerhard Richter, Abstraktes Bild, 1987. Estimate Upon Request.
    Stemming from the chronological apex of the period in which Richter perfected and centralized his use of the large-scale spatula or squeegee, Abstraktes Bild ranks amongst the very finest achievements of the artist’s abstract output. This expansive diptych presents a spectacular maelstrom of feverish color exploding across the canvas in a dense weave of skeins and spangles of squeegeed paint, Richter’s signature method of execution.
