Beloved entertainer Robin Williams brought joy and laughter to audiences around the globe with his acclaimed performances in roles from Captain Hook to Mrs. Doubtfire. His characteristic enthusiasm carried into his passion for collecting, and together with his wife of over 20 years, film producer and philanthropist Marsha Garces Williams, assembled a diverse collection encompassing Contemporary art, books, film memorabilia, watches, bicycles, decorative arts and more. This fall Sotheby’s will present Creating a Stage: The Collection of Marsha and Robin Williams (4 October, New York), a dedicated auction of the collection with a portion of proceeds to benefit charities including The Juilliard School, Wounded Warrior Project, the Challenged Athletes Foundation, and the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. To see a few of the upcoming highlights, including a sculpture by Deborah Butterfield and a Gryffindor robe worn by Daniel Radcliffe in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, click ahead.
