  Made from the finest calf leather and 2% gold plate, this bag is an ideal marriage of Lulu Guinness’ trademark red lipstick and Hand & Lock’s traditional use of military style embroidery. Embodying Lulu Guiness' famous pop art style, the design combines traditional techniques and modern glamour. The reverse of the bag features a phrase written by Lulu Guinness that has been transcribed in embroidery using goldwork with alternate strands of red and traditional gold bullion, a gracious nod to the brand’s quirkiness, in harmony with the red leather.   The 1781 Woodland by Asprey

  The chosen design was created with expanses of gold work used to form the main oak leaves in contrast to the finer intricate detail of the acorns, illustrating the various and complex embroidery techniques employed by the skilled artisans as they expertly translated the design. Once complete, the goldwork was hand embroidered onto each crocodile panel applied to Asprey’s 1781 handbag. This iconic embroidery and handbag style is a fine example of both Hand & Lock and  Asprey’s heritage and craftsmanship. Each detail was carefully considered including the metal 1781 motif, which has a hand embroidered goldwork interpretation complementing the royal blue seta crocodile of the handbag.The oak tree, symbolic to the British landscape was an ideal choice, matching Asprey’s own woodland themes within its current jewellery collections.
