Ahead of a slate of highly anticipated auctions beginning 13 September, Sotheby’s opened its galleries this weekend to celebrate Fall 2016 Asia Week with a series of exhibitions throughout our York Avenue headquarters. Guests were dazzled by early Chinese art from the collection of legendary art dealer Sakamoto Gorō, as well as Chinese paintings from the collection of Roy and Marilyn Papp, Song and Qing dynasty ceramics, calligraphy and more. In a special exhibition on our second floor, traditional objects were viewed in a contemporary setting created by interior designer Jarret Yoshida. Click ahead for a recap of the weekend.
