Sotheby’s is extremely pleased to offer this incredible private collection of lady’s watches as part of the upcoming Watches sale in London, which includes an attractive selection of vintage Piaget watches. In the avant-garde period between the late 1960s and early 1970s, the fashion was for gold bracelet watches with colorful hardstone dials, and Piaget was at the forefront of these designs, launching its 21st Century Collection in 1969. Produced for only five years, the collection was inspired by the period’s nonconformist style, playing with texture, color, and design and today these iconic pieces are considered an important part of Piaget’s very DNA.
