his year the renowned Treasures sale expands beyond the parameters of London, joined by an inaugural sale in Paris, to showcase some of the most exceptional works of decorative art, many emanating from important aristocratic and royal collections. Beginning with the live auction in London, the sale highlights a set of four Louis XV gilt-bronze wall-appliques attributed to Jacques Caffiéri, believed to be made for Madame de Pompadour and held at Swinton Park for 140 years. Other standout pieces include George III armchairs attributed to Thomas Chippendale and a Roman Baroque hardstone cabinet from William Beckford’s collection.The inaugural live sale in Paris follows, featuring prestigious European pieces, including a rare Louis XIV gilt-bronze and ebony cabinet, a commode by Simon Oeben, and various exquisite 19th-century furnishings, silver, and gold items by artisans like Giuseppe Valadier and Jean Frémin.
