Join us for an exciting conversation that will shed light on the fast-moving world of Luxury NFTs. Frederic Genta, son of renowned watchmaker Gérald Genta whose career has spanned tech giants such as Google and Amazon, Karinna Grant, Co-CEO at The Dematerialised, and Sebastian Fahey, Managing Director EMEA at Sotheby’s, will discuss how NFTs have entered the luxury market in a conversation chaired by digital strategist Jia Jia Fei. The talk will coincide with the upcoming auction Gerald Genta: Icon of Time, which pays tribute to Genta’s legacy of innovation by pairing an original design by him with a unique NFT. The conversation will explore how tradition and innovation are beginning to collide in the luxury market.

Meet the Panel

Karinna Grant, Co-CEO THE DEMATERIALISED

Karinna Grant is an Educator, Nowist and Connector. She is a published author, previously consulting and lecturing globally on retail innovation and the digitalisation of the fashion sector.

In 2019 she created HOT:SECOND a circular economy concept store trading physical goods for digital experiences. In 2020 she co-founded THE DEMATERIALISED with Marjorie Hernandez, an experiential marketspace for fashion and luxury NFTs.


Frédéric Genta, Ex Google and Amazon, Harvard MBA and son of renowned watchmaker Gérald Genta

Frédéric held various senior leadership roles at Google both in Mountain View and in Paris. Prior to that, he worked at Amazon and Orange in several countries around Europe.

He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. He also received a master in organizational behaviour from Paris X University Frédéric is visiting professor of strategy at ESCP Europe in Paris, a board member and an advisor to different companies and start-ups. He is married and father of one child. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and tennis.


Sebastian Fahey, Managing Director of Sotheby’s EMEA

Sebastian Fahey was appointed Managing Director of Sotheby’s EMEA in late 2019. Based in London, he is responsible for the company’s business in Europe, the Middle East, Russia, India and Africa.

Before his current appointment, Sebastian lived in Hong Kong from 2015 to 2019, where he served as Commercial Director, Asia, before assuming the role of Managing Director – Business, Asia in 2018. In this role he was responsible for leading the Company’s business director team, providing high value and complex transaction support, facilitating private sales, as well as overseeing the specialist departments of Modern Asian Art, Contemporary Art, Southeast Asian Art and Sotheby’s Gallery.

Prior to moving to Hong Kong, Sebastian was originally based in London as Senior Director of Auction Deals for Sotheby’s in Europe and before this as the Head of Sotheby’s Financial Services, Europe and Asia. By offering customised loans both for property consigned for sale and term loans secured against the value of a collection, Sebastian helped Sotheby’s global clients put their art collections and other valuable assets to work. Sebastian has over a decade of experience in structuring loans and finding tailored art-related financing solutions.

Sebastian joined Sotheby’s in 2004 after having graduated from the London School of Economics.


JiaJia Fei, Digital Strategist for the Art World

JiaJia Fei is a digital strategist with 15 years of experience working at the intersection of art, culture, and technology. As founder of the first digital agency for art, she works with museums, galleries, and arts organizations to make art more accessible through creative storytelling and data-driven approaches. JiaJia previously spent over a decade leading digital teams within cultural institutions, including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and The Jewish Museum in New York City. She received her BA in History of Art from Bryn Mawr College, and has lectured on the impact of art and technology worldwide.
