Sotheby's Hong Kong Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Autumn Sales Total HK$69 Million / US$8.9 Million

Hong Kong, 8 October 2020 This season at Sotheby’s Hong Kong, Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Autumn Sales achieved a total of HK$69 million / US$8.9 million, led by Sudjana Kerton’s Indonesian Village Life which sold for HK$8,040,000 / US$1,037,000, over four times its estimate, the second highest price ever achieved for the artist at auction. Another highlight of the sale for the Indonesian art market was Handiwirman Saputra’s Weekend and Organic Projects from No Roots No Shoots #3, which soared to a record-breaking HK$2,520,000 / US$325,000.
