About the Museum

Since 1826, the Royal Scottish Academy of Art and Architecture (RSA) has been committed to promoting the creation, understanding and enjoyment of contemporary art and architecture in Scotland. The RSA building is located in the heart of Edinburgh’s city centre and was designed by the renowned architect William Henry Playfair. The RSA hosts a range of exhibitions and events throughout the year to celebrate established and emerging Scottish talent whilst maintaining an extraordinary collection of over 7,000 individual works ranging from circa 1780 to the present day.

For the first time in its' history, the RSA's 194th Annual Exhibition has been launched completely online. Browse hundreds of works by Academicians, invited artists, and selected open artists and architects. For further information visit: https://www.rsaannualexhibition.org/
