An East Coast Eden for all seasons
A museum of living plants, this National Historic Landmark site features one of the world’s most diverse collections of flora. The NYBG encompasses 250 acres of rolling hills, dramatic rock outcroppings, waterfalls, ponds, the Bronx River and 50-acres of the forest that once covered New York City. Exhibitions presented on the grounds are usually seasonally themed and include the popular Holiday Train Show during winter, the Orchid Show in spring, a changing summer show and, during autumn, a diverse array of thoughtful explorations such as “Kiku: Japanese Chrysanthemums”. The Family Garden, which features vegetables and fruits and the Children’s Adventure Garden, are popular with all ages.
