Feted venue for blockbuster exhibitions
The H’ART Museum in Amsterdam was, until 2022, a satellite institution of the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Located in the former Amstelhof, a classical Golden Age building that once served as a retirement home, the museum holds no permanent college and instead stages temporary exhibitions that mix historical and contemporary art and themes. It partners with the Centre Pompidou, British Museum and Smithsonian American Art Museum to bring or develop these world-class exhibitions in Amsterdam, making it a local favorite. During the warmer months, the expansive, grassy inner courtyard hosts a vibrant cultural program that includes film screenings, musical performances and art events.
